Bihun, some call Meehun, Bee Hoon, or Bihon, is one type of rice noodle that widely consumed in SEA countries. Usually, bihun is cooked either in stir-fries method or in soupy form, like Singapore Fried Bihun, Qing Tang Meehun (bihun soup), etc, it is treated as single meal dish, which is a substantial meal for most of the Southeast Asean. One plate of fried bihun and a glass of tea could be a complete lunch or dinner for the people here.
Petai Fried Bihun is one of the delicious single dish meal among all the Nyonya cruisines you can find in Southeast Asia. Fried bihun, a very simple single dish meal is transformed into a hot, spicy, salty, fishy and mouth watering meal when chillies, dried shrimp and petai bean are added in.
To make this yummy Nyonya dish, first, we need the following ingredients:
| 300g Bihun | 25g dried shrimp |
| 8 prawn, cleaned and peeled | cabbage, torn |
| 8 dried chili | 5 cloves garlic, chopped |
| 100g petai bean | Salt to taste |
| 3 red shallot, chopped | Oil |
Then, steps to be taken:
- first, soak bihun, dried chillies and dried shrimp in water till soft.
- mince the soaked dried chillies and dried shrimp.
